We Were D.O.A. focuses the sprawling aesthetic of Matt K. Shrugg (PIZZAS, RIP OFFS, ZODIAC KILLERS, SHRUGGS) into a well-crafted, 4-song EP. From those great savage screams to harmonious hooks, the shapes and colors of these tunes serve their mission. Even so, anything high-brow is quickly submerged in Shrugg's restless punk guitar tones. A significant jump in fidelity, his latest record exhibits some of the best material to date (and I would recommend bouncing that comment against the criminally under-sung "Gone Ashtray" LP). 7″ EP includes free download.
